Basecamp Bans Discussion about Chicago Bulls at Work
CHICAGO – After the controversial decision to ban political and societal discussion, Basecamp doubled down by disallowing any conversations about the struggles of the so-called "NBA team" Chicago Bulls.
"Every now and then, there would be an unprompted chit-chat about how Bulls will continue tanking for the next two decades, or the management should consider playing in EuroLeague. We have enough of it. No more." said Basecamp CEO and native Chicagoan Jason Fried. "People can have conversations on topics like this in other nuanced places on the internet. There's the r/NBA subreddit, or the Youtube comment section of Stephen A. Smith's hot take compilation videos."
One employee who prefers to remain unidentified shared his discontent about this decision and shared another secret. "Basecamp has been keeping a list of names of NBA draft pick busts for the last ten years. We think it's gross, unforgivable misconduct towards these multi-millionaire athletes." said the employee, who admitted he thought trading Jimmy Butler was the correct decision. "We all work remotely and feel isolated. Collectively shitting on the Chicago Bulls has been the one thing that keeps our spirits up during these tough times. I can't believe they banned that."
As of press time, our sources confirmed Basecamp is also considering banning discourse on other sensitive issues, such as if hot dog a sandwich, who killed Biggie and Tupac, and if the United States should pass a bill to retroactively punish men who sported frosty tips hairstyle.
